Title: CORE logo Brief: CORE is a furniture/interior design installation curated by the Egyptian Designers Forum for Egypt’s prestigious FURNEX exhibit. 2005 would be the first ever to witness such an event, so it had to be strong and breathtaking the first time around for it to be given the chance to ever happen again. The name CORE refers to the core of Egyptian furniture design creativity, as the purpose of the installation is to mainly highlight traces of superior Egyptian furniture design in terms of creativity and quality. The core concept was also very evident in the architectural plan the Egyptian Designers Forum had devised for the designated hall for the event, and they’d pointed out that if the event was to reoccur in the years to come, then variations of the same architectural concept would most likely be resorted to. I noticed the square-within-the-square approach used to reflect the core concept in the architectural plan, so I figured I’d apply the same to the logo. The typeface for the word “CORE” has a very structural basis to it, with each letter being confined to the dimensions of the square, all equal in size and positioning. You can tell it feels very “designed,” which is perfect for a “design” installation. See Also: |
